Used for grinding and fettling smaller components that can readily be positioned on a bench. Typical applications include all metal grinding, the dressing of glass reinforced plastics and other materials.
Operation
The operator mounts the component on a steel or aluminium open grid on the bench. (Note: aluminium grids are used where spark free operation is required to prevent ignition of explosive dusts and to prevent damage to components. Plastic or wooden grids can also be supplied).
Air is drawn past the operator over the grinding area and into a hopper from where it is conveyed into a wet or dry extraction unit. Standard features include twin overhead bulkhead light fittings and removable cover to facilitate cleaning.
JB Thorne down draught beches are designed to achieve factory Inspector air velocities across the front verical face, closest to the breathing zone, not at the table face.
Options
- Acoustic linings.
- Wet or dry extraction units dependent on application (Polytex, Nonflam or Autoflo).
- Cut-out provided in the top for cranage of heavy components.
- Rubber curtains for longer components
- Indexing mechanical turntables
